SKM extends support to Dallewal, highlights unity in farmers’ struggle

Ludhiana: Leaders of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) reaffirmed their support for farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a hunger strike for 39 days at the Khanauri border, during a meeting held in Ludhiana.

The SKM leadership said that while their platforms may differ, their collective fight remains united.

“Dallewal has expressed willingness to seek medical aid if the Central government initiates talks. Despite this, the government has yet to reach out to him,” one leader remarked.

Prominent farmer leaders, including Ruldu Singh Mansa, Baldev Singh Nihalgarh, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, and Harwinder Singh Lakhowal, attended the meeting.

The SKM also announced a mahapanchayat on January 4 in Tohana, Haryana. Meanwhile, the SKM (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have planned a separate mahapanchayat on the same date at the Khanauri border, reportedly without prior communication.

The situation underscores growing tensions within the farmer movement as leaders call for a unified approach to their demands.
