“Sukhbir Badal ran away from field fearing defeat,” CM Mann attacks SAD chief over not contesting LS polls
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann slammed the Shiromani Akali Dal, asserting that Sukhbir Badal had withdrawn from the race out of fear of defeat. The CM said that Badal realized that the people of Punjab would not grant him another opportunity, hence his decision not to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Ferozepur.
Mann said that despite holding positions in the central government multiple times, the Badal family, as representatives of the Akali Dal, never advocated for Punjab’s rights. They prioritized their own interests and disregarded Punjab’s rights, leading to their rejection by the public.
CM Mann made these remarks during a roadshow in Ferozepur in support of AAP candidate Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar on Saturday. He showcased a picture of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, emphasizing that the BJP aims to undermine the Constitution crafted by Baba Saheb.
This election transcends mere leadership positions; it’s about safeguarding democracy and the nation’s Constitution. Mann warned that if the BJP prevails, it could spell the end of future elections in the country.
