Surveillance drone shot down near Mand village, alert in Jalandhar

Jalandhar: A surveillance drone was brought down by the armed forces around 9:20 pm near Mand village in Jalandhar on Monday late evening. An expert team has been deployed to locate the debris.

Authorities have urged residents not to approach any debris if found, and to immediately inform the nearest police station instead.

“No drone activity has been observed in Jalandhar since 10 pm,” the DC Himanshu Aggarwal said, urging citizens to remain calm.

He also appealed to residents not to burst firecrackers, following reports of such incidents in some areas. “Strict police action will be taken against those trying to create panic,” he warned.

As a precautionary measure, power supply in some parts of the city was cut off and will be reviewed after some time. “There is nothing to worry,” the DC added.
