Terrorists attack police post in Punjab with hand grenade

Chandigarh: A police post in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, near the India-Pakistan border, came under attack late Wednesday night when terrorists threw a hand grenade from a moving auto-rickshaw.

The blast occurred at the Bakshiwal outpost in Kalanaur town, prompting police officials, a bomb disposal squad, and forensic experts to rush to the scene and collect evidence.

Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), a pro-Khalistani terrorist organization, claimed responsibility for the attack through a social media post. Authorities have seized the auto used in the attack and launched an investigation. A formal statement from Punjab Police is awaited.

This marks the seventh attack in Punjab within the past 26 days.

Pro-Khalistani groups have carried out six blasts successfully, while police foiled one attempt by recovering a bomb from Ajnala police station earlier.
