To avail benefit of Zero Bill, People applying for second electricity meters in Punjab

Punjab E News: There has been a flood of people applying new connections with Powercom to get ‘zero bill’. Those whose household electricity consumption is high and do not fall within the purview of 600 units (two months), they have set up new electricity connections in their homes. Powercom does not have any rules that prohibit taking two connections in the same house.

According to the details, the number of new connections received across Punjab from January 1 to September has reached 2.95 lakh as compared to 2.20 lakh during these months last year.
It is clear from this that the number of people taking new connections has increased by 75 thousand during these months. This increase is about 34 percent. Powercom’s field offices are crowded with people taking new connections.
Since July 1, the AAP government has waived off 600 units (two months).
