Travel agency staff in Jalandhar attacked by youth over visa refusal

Jalandhar: Aryans Academy staff were attacked late last evening by a group of youths. CCTV footage of the incident shows the attackers assaulting agency employees with chairs and slapping them.

A complaint was promptly filed with the police control room, after which officers from Police Station Division 7 arrived at the scene to investigate. Authorities are currently working to identify the suspects based on the CCTV footage. Police officials have confirmed that the individuals involved will be summoned for questioning.

According to Anil Sharma, the owner of Aryans Academy, the attackers were clients who had sought assistance in obtaining a U.S. visa. However, after one of them failed their visa interview, the group retaliated by vandalizing the office and assaulting the staff.

Sharma said that the family had initially approached the agency seven months ago, and only standard visa fees were charged. After the visa was denied, the violent confrontation ensued.

The investigation is ongoing, and further actions are expected to be taken once the accused are identified.
