Two cops among three injured in firing incident in Punjab
Chandigarh: A farmer leader, an ASI, a constable and a home guard were injured in the firing during a quarrel at Amiwala village under Dharamkot police station around 1 am last night. The farmer leader has been referred to DMC Ludhiana as his condition is critical, while three policemen, including an ASI, are undergoing treatment at the local civil hospital.
According to the details, a police party led by ASI Gurdeep Singh had reached the spot for investigation after receiving a complaint about a fight between two parties in village Amiwala.
Meanwhile, people started pelting stones at the police. According to police sources, crowd snatched the official revolver of the police and opened fire, during which one bullet hit ASI Gurdeep Singh and others.
