Two killed as factory wall collapses during storm in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: Two daily wage earners were killed when a factory wall collapsed during a storm in the Ludhiana on Saturday evening, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Ramdhan and Niranjan. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Davinder Chaudhary, the two were standing near the wall of the factory on Karabara Road when strong winds caused the structure to collapse on them.

“One of them died on the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries at the hospital,” the officer said.

Police said the duo were buried under the debris and locals rushed to rescue them before emergency services arrived. An investigation into the incident is underway.
