Two killed, two injured as Activa crashes into parked truck near Kartarpur

Jalandhar: Two persons were killed and two others seriously injured when an Activa scooter rammed into a parked truck near a dhaba on the national highway near Village Singhan. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.

ASI Baljinder Singh said the four victims were traveling from Jalandhar to Nakodar to pay obeisance at a religious dera when their scooter crashed into the rear of the stationary truck near the illuminated dhaba. The impact was severe, killing two on the spot and leaving two others critically injured.

Police reached the site upon receiving information and transported the victims to Civil Hospital, Jalandhar, via a government ambulance.

The deceased were identified as Ekam, son of Sukhdev, and Jashandeep, son of Rajkumar, both residents of Mithu Basti. The injured, Suraj, son of Ravinder, from Rajnagar, and Bear, son of Pradeep, from Basti Bawa Khel, are undergoing treatment.

The bodies will be handed over to the families after a post-mortem, police said.
