Two professors of Baba Farid Central University arrested on bribery charges by HP police
Chandigarh: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau of Himachal Pradesh has arrested two professors from Punjab on charges of bribery. The accused, affiliated with Baba Farid University and Central University, allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 3.50 lakh in exchange for favorable inspection results at Sai University, Palampur.
The professors were appointed by the Pharmacy Council of India to inspect the Sai Baba Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research.
According to the vigilance investigation, they accepted the bribe to provide undue advantages to the institution. Along with the two professors, their driver has also been arrested in connection with the case. A formal complaint has been lodged against the accused.
