Victim of pastor’s assault identified as Mohali resident; man beaten for stopping sister from attending church

Jalandhar: Pastor Bajinder Singh, known for claiming to cure diseases through miracles, has been identified in a viral video assaulting a woman and a young man, police said on Monday.

The victims, residents of Mohali, were reportedly working for him. They were accused of theft and assaulted, though the woman has not given any official statement yet.

Sources said the young man was beaten after he tried to stop his sister from attending Bajinder Singh’s church.

Meanwhile, a woman from Kapurthala had previously accused him of sexual harassment, and her statement has been recorded in court.

The viral video, dated February 14, shows Bajinder Singh slapping a woman and earlier throwing a book at her while she was sitting with a child. The incident took place at his Chandigarh office. So far, the church has not issued any statement on the matter.

Bajinder Singh is already facing a case of sexual harassment after a woman accused him of molestation at ‘The Church of Glory and Wisdom’ in Tajpur village, Jalandhar.

She alleged that he took her phone number, sent obscene messages, and misbehaved with her inside his church cabin. The Kapurthala police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case, and the woman’s statement has been recorded.
