Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader’s murder case: NIA conducts raids in Punjab

Chandigarh: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted raids in Punjab in connection with the murder of a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader. Prabhakar alias Vikas Bagga was shot dead at his sweet shop in Nangal in Punjab’s Rupnagar district on April 13. He was the Nangal president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had taken over the case from the state police on May 9. An NIA spokesperson said that searches are being conducted in connection with the murder case of Vikas Prabhakar, in which it is not possible to give further details immediately.

Dharmendra Kumar alias Kunal (22), who supplied the illegal arms and ammunition used in the high-profile murder, was recently arrested by the NIA from Ludhiana in Punjab in coordination with the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
