Why Akal Takht Sahib’s stance towards Dhadrianwale appears conciliatory
Amritsar: The message issued by Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, to Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, asking him to explain his alleged violation of Takht directives, is being viewed as a conciliatory move to bring him into the fold of efforts against apostasy in Punjab.
In response, Dhadrianwale has expressed willingness to join the Sikh Dharma Prachar Abhiyan, an initiative launched by Giani Gargaj to promote Sikh values and counter the growing trend of apostasy.
Known for his ‘modern and rational’ interpretation of Sikhism, Dhadrianwale heads Gurdwara Parmeshar Dwar, located on the Patiala-Sangrur highway and spread over 33 acres.
Despite being surrounded by controversies, he commands a significant following in India and abroad.
