Women to get Rs 1100 monthly allowance in Punjab soon, announces CM Mann in Chabbewal
Chabbewal: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, while addressing the first volunteer meeting for the upcoming assembly by-election in Chabbewal, strongly criticized the leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress.
In a significant statement, Mann hinted at providing a monthly allowance of Rs 1100 to women, stating that this initiative is his “next target.” He compared it to the state’s existing zero electricity bill scheme, stating that it would be a long-term benefit.
During his address, Mann called on the youth in attendance to stand, humorously suggesting that they would eventually receive the Rs 1100 allowance.
He assured supporters that once the budget allows, he would make a formal announcement, with the intention of ensuring the scheme’s continuity beyond the election period.
In recent months, by-elections in Punjab have seen notable shifts. After the Jalandhar West MLA left AAP to join the BJP, the seat was won by AAP candidate Mohinder Bhagat in a record-setting victory.
The upcoming elections will take place in Barnala, Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, and Chabbewal, as the MLAs from these areas have now transitioned to the role of MPs.
The nomination process for these seats has been completed, with scrutiny of documents scheduled for October 28.
Following his Chabbewal appearance, Mann is also expected to visit Dera Baba Nanak as part of his campaign trail.
