Patiala, December 19, 2024
The President of the Youth Akali Dal (YAD), Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, campaigned vigorously in different wards of Patiala today in support of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Municipal Corporation (MC) candidates. The YAD President met with voters, listened to their concerns, and assured them that the SAD is committed to addressing their issues.
As the only regional party genuinely invested in Punjab’s welfare, Shiromani Akali Dal has consistently prioritized the state’s interests. Unlike other parties like AAP, BJP, and Congress, which are controlled from Delhi and focused on pleasing their national leaders, SAD remains committed to addressing Punjab’s unique challenges.
Sarabjeet Jhinjer also assured that Youth Akali Dal workers will be present in large numbers at all polling booths during voting on December 21. This move aims to ensure that the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government does not resort to violent tactics to win the elections.
“We will not allow the AAP government to destroy the peace and tranquility of Patiala,” the YAD President said. “Our workers will be present at all polling booths to ensure that voters can exercise their franchise without fear or intimidation. If the Aam Aadmi Party tries to commit any violence or hooligism during the voting process, then we will definitely give them a bitter reply.”
Jhinjer also slammed the AAP government and local MLAs for ruining the democratic process during the filing of nomination papers. He demanded that the district administration take immediate action to ensure that the democratic process is upheld and that free and fair elections are held.
“The AAP government and local MLAs have brought shame to our democratic process,” the YAD President said. “Their actions are a clear violation of the principles of democracy and the rule of law. We demand that the district administration immediately stop playing the role of a mere mute puppet and take immediate action to ensure that the democratic process is upheld and that free and fair elections are held.”
Finally, Jhinjer appealed to the voters of Patiala to come out in large numbers and exercise their franchise. “This election is crucial for the future of Patiala, and we urge all voters to participate in the democratic process,” the YAD President said.
Jhinjer specially campaigned for Ward number 14 Candidate Kamaldeep Kaur w/o SAD District President Amit Singh Rathi. Present among others were SAD Halka Incharge Jaspal Singh Bittu Chatha, District Rural YAD President Amritpal Singh Lang, District urban YAD President Karanveer Singh Sahni, YAD spokesperson Gurtej Singh Mander, Harjot Singh Majri, Manpreet Singh Faridpur, Manpreet Singh Majri, Sukhpal Singh, Kamalpreet Singh, Darshan Singh Baran and others.
