Young girl killed, seven injured in multi-vehicle collision near Ludhiana

Chandigarh: A young girl was killed, and seven others sustained serious injuries in a multi-vehicle collision near Wajidke village on the Barnala-Ludhiana main road, police said on Friday.

The accident, attributed to dense fog, involved five vehicles, including tractor trolleys carrying bricks, trolley trucks, PRTC buses with passengers, and cars.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Thuliwal police station, Kiran Kaur, confirmed that the crash occurred due to poor visibility caused by fog. The injured were rushed to government and private hospitals in Barnala.

The deceased, identified as Anupriya, a resident of Sherpur Kheri village in Sangrur district, died on the spot. Two of the injured are lecturers at a college in Raikot town and were commuting to work at the time of the accident.
