Youth beaten to death over love affair in Ludhiana

Chandigarh: A young man in Ludhiana, Punjab, was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon, leaving him seriously injured.

The victim, identified as Sachin Tiwari, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at PGI after initially being rushed to a private hospital.

Sachin Tiwari, the only son of his family, was reportedly involved in a love affair with a girl, which had earlier been addressed at a police station.

Following the incident, Sachin moved to Gujarat for work, but the girl allegedly continued to contact him. According to Sachin’s family, the girl’s relatives persuaded him to return to Ludhiana under the pretext of marriage.

The fatal attack occurred in the New Puneet Nagar area of the city. A video from the scene shows Sachin gravely injured. Sachin’s uncle, Rakesh, stated that the family had been searching for a suitable match for him in their village when the girl’s family contacted Sachin and lured him back to Ludhiana.

Before leaving, Sachin reportedly told his family he was traveling to collect money and goods but did not disclose further details.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining the circumstances surrounding the attack.
