Youth dies in car accident, girl critically injured in Sangrur

Sangrur: A tragic road accident occurred near the Kalajhar toll plaza on the Bathinda-Chandigarh national highway today, resulting in the death of a boy and serious injuries to a girl.

According to police reports, the incident took place when a car carrying two students from a private college collided head-on with a PRTC bus coming from Bhawanigarh.

The collision occurred as the car was merging onto the main road, leaving the vehicle severely damaged.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Harvinder Pal Singh, in charge of the Road Safety Force, confirmed that both students were rushed to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala.

The boy, identified as Shivmani Singh, a resident of Channo village, succumbed to his injuries, while the girl remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment.

Beant Singh, in charge of the Kalajhar police post, stated that a case has been registered, and further investigations are underway.
