Youth laud CM for giving them government jobs completely on merit

Chandigarh: The youth of the state on Tuesday gave affirmative response to the campaign of the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government to give jobs to the youth completely on the basis of merit.

Sharing his views Manish Sharma said that he had completed his masters in 2021 and since then he has been vying for a government job. He said that though earlier jobs were on sale in the state but now the things have completely changed and youth are getting jobs completely on merit. He said that this job has changed his fortune as earlier he had planned to go abroad but now he has got the job along with all his classmates.

Another youth from village Sherpur Sodhian near Dhuri said that he has been working in a private firm for the last 14 years. He said that due to the apathy of the previous governments they had lost hope that he would ever get a government job. However, he said that now things have changed in the state and youth are getting jobs completely on the basis of merit.

Maninder Kaur, a private teacher from Ludhiana, while airing her views, said that it is a dream come true for her. She said that the reverse trend is visible in the state as a number of students from abroad are now coming to the state in hope of getting jobs. She said that hundreds of students are getting coaching from her centre in Ludhiana after coming from foreign countries.

Komal Sagar said that she had been waiting for this day since long and had appeared in a number of competitive exams. She said that unfortunately during previous regimes the results of exams were not cleared due to which youth were depressed. However, she said that a paradigm shift is being witnessed today as youth are getting jobs in a transparent manner.

Randhir Singh, a class wrestler, said that he was selected to Punjab Police in 2008 but was ousted in 2012 after which he went to US and Canada. However, he said that now he is running a wrestling academy here and has got the job of Patwari without any recommendation or bribe. He said that this is a revolution in the state for which the credit goes to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Harpreet, another youth who had done IELTS to migrate to foreign shores said that he was frustrated due to the callousness of earlier governments towards youth who did nothing to provide government jobs to youth. He said that after the formation of the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, a hope rekindled and prior to moving abroad he decided to appear in an exam for a government job. He said that as the exam was conducted in a transparent manner so he was selected and has a government job today.

Sarabjit singh who also got a government job today said that he had served the Indian army for 18 years before joining here. He said that the previous governments paid no heed towards giving government jobs to youth due to which they were disarrayed. He said that the incumbent government has brought a revolutionary change by giving government jobs to youth on merit which is an encouraging trend.
