YouTuber Jasbir Singh arrested for spying; 150 Pakistan contacts found, link to Hisar vlogger surfaces

Chandigarh: YouTuber Jasbir Singh, arrested in Punjab on charges of spying for Pakistan, had 150 Pakistani contact numbers saved in his mobile phone, police said. Authorities suspect some of these may belong to ISI agents or other Pakistani officials, and an investigation is underway.

Jasbir, 41, is a resident of Mahlan village in Ropar district. In a video uploaded on YouTube, he is seen shopping in Pakistan with Jyoti Malhotra, a YouTuber from Hisar in Haryana. Malhotra has been sent to three-day police remand for questioning.

Meanwhile, Jasbir’s family has gone missing from their village home. Villagers said his wife and son were last seen on Tuesday, but the house has been locked since Wednesday. His parents have passed away, and one of his brothers lives in Mohali.

Police are probing the suspected espionage network and the purpose of Jasbir’s alleged connections across the border.
