Women’s T20 World Cup: India beat Pakistan by 6 wickets
New Delhi: Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet Kaur put up a strong batting display, while bowlers Arundhati Reddy (3 wickets) and Shreyanka Patil (2 wickets) led India to a six-wicket victory over Pakistan in a Group A match of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
Pakistan, batting first, posted 105/8. India chased down the target, scoring 108/4 in 18.5 overs.
After a heavy defeat to New Zealand in their opening game, India needed to win this match in 11.2 overs to boost their net run rate.
However, the team struggled with the chase but secured their first win in two matches, moving up from fifth to fourth in the group table. Despite the loss, Pakistan holds the third spot.
