Apeejay School celebrated ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ by organising a Tiranga Walk for the Students
Punjab E News:-  Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg joined in the spirit of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ by organising a Tiranga Walk for the students of Classes VI, VII and NCC Cadets on 6 August 2022. ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The idea of the campaign is to encourage Indians to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of Indian Independence.
The young torch-bearers of freedom attired in tricolour, adorning tricolour stripes on their faces and holding their National Flag assembled at the Front Gate for the Tiranga Walk, radiated the fervour of patriotism. The Walk commenced from the School’s Front Gate and after covering the important landmarks of the city like BMC Roundabout, Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Hall and Hansraj Badminton Stadium culminated at the School’s Second Gate. Students accompanied by their teachers exhibited great enthusiasm throughout, singing patriotic songs and symbolically spreading the message of respecting and upholding the National Flag with pride.
The School, taking a step forward in infusing the feeling of being proud of the rich Indian heritage and history, invited the parents to share their family selfie with the National Flag hoisted atop their homes.
The Grand Walk was followed by an address by Ms. Amarjot Kaur, Head of the Department (Social Science). In her address to the students, Ma’am briefed them about the symbolic meaning of the National Flag and some startling facts associated with it thus sensitising them to respect it just not as our national identity but also as a representation of the hopes and aspirations of the people of India.
To commemorate the monumental occasion of India’s 75th ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ , Apeejay School has been hosting a melange of patriotic activities to inculcate a feeling of national pride amongst the students. Rakhi Making Activity was organised for the students of Classes I - VIII. These handmade rakhis were later sent to the soldiers to uplift their spirits and to express our gratitude for their selfless service. A plethora of activities like a special assembly on Quit India Movement, Spell-a-thon Round for the month with the theme ‘Patriotism’ and Independence Day Celebration will be held in the days to come.
The School Quadrangle kept on reverberating throughout with the slogan ‘Jhanda Ooncha Rahey Hamara, Vijay Vishv Tiranga Pyaara’.
The event concluded with the rendition of National Anthem.
