AAP leader thanked the people of Punjab for maintaining peace and CM Bhagwant Mann for apt action

Punjab E News: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that the people of Punjab are peace loving people who want development. The history is the witness that anyone, who tried to disturb the communal peace and brotherhood of Punjab has, always failed utterly.

  Reacting to the arrest of Amritpal Singh, on Sunday, AAP senior leader and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that during Ajnala incident our guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji’s swaroop was used as a shield to discharge one person from police custody. The same could have been done through proper legal process. It was Punjab Police who handled the whole situation with utmost sincerity, sensitivity and discernment. As per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police diffused the whole situation without any kind of firing and lathicharge. They did not let anyone sacrilege Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji   because they were working as ordered by the CM, who had given clear instructions to not hurt the sentiments of any religion or community.

  Cheema added that on March, 18th Amritpal Singh ran away from Punjab Police instead of facing the law. After 36 days long operation today Punjab Police arrested him. He added that Amritpal tried to pull a similar stunt as Ajnala incident but once again Punjab Police worked efficiently.

  Cheema also targeted SAD-BJP government of Punjab and said that in their rule so many sacrilege incidents happened and people were killed in firings. But this is Aam Aadmi Party’s secular government, who respect all religions and work for the welfare of Punjab and its people.

  Cheema said that Punjab’s communal peace is our priority. Cheema thanked chief minister Bhagwant Mann for his farsightedness and reiterated his government’s commitment to maintain peace and law and order in the state.

  Cheema also thanked the people of Punjab for trusting and supporting the Punjab government and said that during this whole operation no unfortunate incident happened. He asked people to keep supporting the AAP government and said that we can only maintain peace and brotherhood with the help of our people.
