Punjab’s budget will fully meet people’s expectations: Anmol Gagan Mann

Chandigarh: Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann praised the budget presented by Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha today and described this budget as far-sighted and pro-people budget. She said that this budget will fully meet the expectations of the people of all sections of Punjab. She told that due to the visionary thinking and capable leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, efforts have been made to make every sector development-oriented in the budget. Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann has thanked the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister for increasing the budget by 8 percent over last year to promote tourism and culture in Punjab.

Sharing more information, the Minister said that a budget provision of Rs 281 crore has been made for the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs for the year 2023-24, which is 8 percent more than the previous year. She added that with this budget, the tourism of Punjab will get a big boost, with which tourists from all over the world will be more attracted towards Punjab.

The Minister explained, the state government has reserved Rs.110 crore for the construction, maintenance and restoration of various monuments. With which the heritage buildings of Punjab will be made more attractive for tourists.

Apart from this, the minister explained that Rs.5 crore have been reserved in the budget to develop the tourism sector as a brand. She told that with this budget, the whole world will be made aware of the history of Punjab’s culture and heritage buildings.
