11 killed, 4 undergoing treatment due to gas leak in Ludhiana’s Giaspura area
Ludhiana: Eleven people were killed and more than four others were hospitalised in a gas leak in Giaspura area of the industrial city of Ludhiana in the early hours today, police said. As soon as the gas leak was reported, police and NDRF teams rushed to the spot and tried to stop the gas leaking into the factory and started rescue operations.
Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh Sidhu, who rushed to the spot, said there was a shop where there was a gas leak. People are becoming unconscious because of the gas coming out of that place. The matter is still under investigation.
MLA Rajinder Kaur Chhina and MLA Gurpreet Gogi also reached the spot after getting information about the incident, who called other teams of the administration to the spot.
