Amritpal Singh and his associates go on hunger strike in Assam jail, know the reason
Punjab News: Kirandeep Kaur, wife of Amritpal Singh, head of ‘Waris Punjab De’ organization, said that Singh and his associates are on a hunger strike inside the Dibrugarh jail in Assam.
She alleged that Dibrugarh jail authorities were not being allowed by the Punjab government to call her. She also alleged that while the food in the jail is not fit to eat, substances like tobacco are lying in the food.
Kirandeep Kaur said that she goes to Dibrugarh jail in Assam every week to meet Amritpal Singh. Like every week, today’s appointment time also passed very quickly. From today’s meeting, I have come to know that the rest of the Singhs, including Amritpal Singh, are on hunger strike, one of the reasons for this is that the Punjab government is not allowing them to give permission to Dibrugarh jail for making phone calls to their family members.
If this facility, which is required in every jail, but the Punjab government is violating the constitutional rights of Amritpal Singh and his associates and forcing jails authorities to not allow them to use jail phone.
