Court grants one-day police remand of AIG Malvinder Singh Sidhu
Mohali News: Punjab Police AIG Malvinder Singh Sidhu was produced before a Mohali court today. The court sent him to one-day police remand. The Vigilance Bureau had yesterday summoned AIG Malvinder Sidhu to the bureau’s office in connection with its ongoing probe into the alleged misuse of his powers and amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, becoming the investigating officer on SC certificates.
When the investigating officers asked Sidhu to keep his mobile out, he flatly refused. He said he wanted to record his inquiry. The investigating officers said that whenever there is an inquiry for investigation, neither the mobile phone can be taken away nor the recording can be done, when he was handed over the form to give details of the property, he got into an argument with the investigating officer.
