Youth shot dead in Amritsar in a loot attempt
Amritsar News: Amidst a rising tide of snatching and robbery incidents in Amritsar, the confidence of the criminals is on the upswing. On Friday night, a tragic event unfolded as robbers fatally shot Rajesh, a resident of Ram Nagar Colony in Guru Nanak Pura. Rajesh lost his life on the spot.
According to the information received, a ‘Jagran’ was being held at Khazana Gate Ground to mark the occasion of Valmiki Pragat around midnight. Rajesh and his companions had just reached a little ahead of New Rialto Chowk when three young men on a motorcycle approached from behind. The criminals attempted to wrest the bag from Rajesh’s grasp.
When he resisted surrendering the bag, the robber seated at the front of the motorcycle resorted to gunfire. The bullet struck Rajesh directly in the chest, resulting in his tragic demise. Following this, the three robbers fled with cash.
