SGPC President Dhami questions police action in Sultanpur Lodhi incident

Amritsar News: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, upon receiving the inquiry report from the manager of Gurdwara Ber Sahib regarding the incident at Gurdwara Akal Bunga in Sultanpur Lodhi, stated that the police’s involvement was inappropriate. He mentioned that the administration should have resolved the issue by convening a meeting with both parties. However, the manner in which the police intervened, disregarding the dignity of the Gurdwara Sahib, has raised questions about the Punjab government’s functioning. Advocate Dhami expressed concerns that the Punjab government was failing at various levels and lacked seriousness in handling law and order. He emphasized that gurdwaras’ affairs directly impact the sentiments of the sangat, yet the Punjab government treated it casually.
