Punjab Minister Aman Arora denied relief, HC defers hearing till Jan 25
Chandigarh: Aman Arora, a cabinet minister in Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government, did not receive any relief from the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday.
The court adjourned the hearing on the PIL filed against Minister Aman Arora until January 25. The petition aims to disqualify Minister Arora from hoisting the flag on January 26.
The Punjab government was supposed to file a reply on Monday, as the high court had earlier issued notice based on a petition from the complainant in the case.
The Sangrur sessions court is scheduled to hear Aman Arora’s appeal against his conviction on January 24, after which the high court will address the matter.
The High Court has already stated that if the sentence against Aman Arora is not stayed, he will not hoist the flag on Republic Day.
