Sikh woman from Ludhiana marries Pakistani youth, coverts to Islam
Islamabad: An Indian-origin Sikh woman from Germany has married a man from Pakistan’s Punjab province. According to reports, Jaspreet Kaur, whose name has now been changed to Zainab, has married Ali Arslan.
This was confirmed by the certificate of acceptance of Islam issued by Jamia Hanfia Sialkot. Jaspreet Kaur is a resident of Ludhiana.
She converted to Islam at Jamia Hanfia Sialkot before marriage and was renamed here. According to reports, when the two were introduced while living abroad, Arslan invited her to come to Pakistan and they got married there.
Jaspreet Kaur had gone to Pakistan on January 16 on a religious visit during which the two got married. She also holds an Indian passport and was granted a single entry visa till April 15.
