Income Tax notice case to Congress, no action will be taken till Lok Sabha elections
New Delhi: In the Income Tax notice case, the Congress has got relief for a few days. During the hearing in the Supreme Court, the Income Tax Department assured that the time of Lok Sabha elections is going on, so we will not take any action to recover these money.
The Congress has filed a petition in the Supreme Court in the matter. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued on behalf of the Income Tax Department. The court will now hear the matter on July 24.
During the hearing of the case, Tushar Mehta said, “We have sent a notice of 1700 crores, but Lok Sabha elections are coming. We will not take any action as of now.”
He said, “The Income Tax assured the court that it is election time. Therefore, we will not take any action to recover this money. No action will be taken till the matter is heard in the month of June.”
