Supreme Court refuses to stay judicial probe into Shubhakaran’s death during farmers’ protest

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to stay the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s direction to set up a committee to probe the death of Shubhkaran Singh during a clash between protesting farmers and Haryana security personnel in February.

The top court said the oversight by a committee headed by a retired judge will bring in fairness and transparency.
