FIR filed against YouTube channel in Ludhiana for fake news on AAP MP Raghav Chadha
Chandigarh: The Ludhiana police have registered a case against a YouTube channel for allegedly spreading false news about Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP and party leader, Raghav Chadha.
The case was registered against Capital TV under various sections based on the complaint of Vikas Parashar, son of AAP MLA and Ludhiana Lok Sabha candidate, Ashok Parashar Pappy. Police are attempting to trace the owner of the channel, “Capital TV.”
In his complaint, Vikas alleged that a YouTuber named “Capital TV,” with around 27 lakh followers, uploaded videos containing false and slanderous statements against Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha on their channel’s page. Some of the content in the viral video alleges that Raghav Chadha fled to England under the guise of seeking treatment after causing youth in the state to become addicted to drugs.
Additionally, another video alleges the distribution of Lok Sabha tickets in exchange for money from candidates. According to the Shimlapuri police station, the case was registered after an investigation by the cyber cell.
