Woman dies during ‘Pushpa 2’ premiere, case filed against Allu Arjun

New Delhi: A woman died of suffocation during the premiere of the film Pushpa 2 at a packed cinema hall, prompting a case against actor Allu Arjun and others, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night as a massive crowd gathered at the theatre to catch a glimpse of the actor. Amid the commotion, the woman, identified as a fan, was trapped in the crowd and suffocated. Her son, also caught in the chaos, was hospitalised and remains under medical observation.

The woman’s husband told a local news channel that the actor’s arrival at the theatre led to a stampede-like situation.

“Doctors have informed us that it will take 48 hours to determine my son’s condition,” he said.

Authorities confirmed that an investigation is underway, and legal action has been initiated.
