Punjab’s tableau selected for Republic Day parade

Chandigarh: Punjab’s tableau has been chosen to participate in the Republic Day parade on January 26, 2025, at Delhi’s Kartavya Path. The tableau will highlight Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, and historical significance.

This selection comes after controversy last year when a tableau dedicated to martyrs was not included, prompting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to accuse the Centre of discrimination.

This year’s parade will feature tableaux from 15 states and union territories, including Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Goa, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Haryana.

Punjab’s tableau, known for its vibrant and colorful themes, is expected to showcase elements like Sikh heritage, Bhangra, Gidda, agricultural traditions, and iconic symbols such as the Golden Temple.
