Diljit Dosanjh dedicates Guwahati concert to former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh

New Delhi: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh paid tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during his concert in Guwahati, following Singh’s passing on December 26.

The artist dedicated his performance to the late leader as part of his “Heart-Luminati Tour Year 24.”

Diljit shared a video from the event on Instagram, reflecting on Dr. Singh’s life and qualities.

He praised Singh for his simplicity and resilience, noting how the leader refrained from speaking ill of others, even in the face of criticism.

“Dr. Manmohan Singh led a very simple life,” Diljit said during the concert. “Even when others spoke ill of him, he chose silence over retaliation—a rare quality in politics.”

The singer also recited a line often associated with Singh: ‘Hazaron jawabon se meri khamoshi achhi, na jaane kitne sawalon ki aabru dhak leti hai.’ (“My silence is better than a thousand answers; it shields countless questions.”)

Diljit said that there is need for young people, including himself, to adopt Singh’s philosophy, urging them to stay focused on their goals despite negativity.
