Woman brutally murdered by husband in Khanna village

Chandigarh: A gruesome incident has been reported in Alaur village of Ludhiana’s Khanna, where a man brutally murdered his wife on January 16.

The victim, identified as 43-year-old Paramjit Kaur Pammi, succumbed to her injuries on January 18 at Chandigarh’s Government Hospital, Sector 32.

According to Sadar Khanna police, the accused locked his wife in a room before stabbing her multiple times in the head, eyes, and stomach with a sharp weapon, described as an ice needle.

He then attacked her with an iron rod, breaking both her legs, and partially burned her body.

The severely injured woman was initially admitted to the civil hospital in Khanna and later referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, for treatment. However, she could not survive the brutal assault.

Police have launched an investigation into the crime. Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhwinder Pal Singh confirmed that the case is being pursued with urgency, and further inquiries are underway.
