Inderjeet Kaur becomes Ludhiana’s first woman mayor
Ludhiana: Inderjeet Kaur has been elected as the first woman mayor of Ludhiana.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) nominated Kaur for the post, alongside Rakesh Parashar as senior deputy mayor and Prince Johar as deputy mayor of Ludhiana Corporation.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made the announcement.
The AAP secured a significant victory in the Ludhiana municipal elections, winning a majority in the 94 wards that went to polls on December 21. Inderjeet Kaur’s election marks a historic moment for the city.
