Punjab police arrest Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang associate

Chandigarh: Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in collaboration with Mohali police, arrested Mahfuz alias Vishal Khan, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang, officials said on Saturday.

The police recovered a pistol and five live cartridges from the accused, identified as the mastermind behind a firing incident at an IELTS centre in Derabassi in September 2024. Vishal had been absconding since the incident, they added.

Described as a history-sheeter, the accused was allegedly planning criminal activities in the Tricity area under the instructions of foreign-based terrorist Goldy Brar, active since 2023.

Police said Vishal obtained weapons from gangster Joginder alias Joga, who also supplied arms and logistical support to those involved in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
