District Administration SBS Nagar and DBEE launches “MISSION PRAGATI” to Empower Youth

SBS Nagar (Nawanshahr):  In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering the youth of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (SBS Nagar), the District Administration launched “Mission Pragati” on Tuesday in collaboration with the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE). The program, inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Mehtab Singh, is a free-of-cost training crash course designed to provide specialized coaching to aspiring candidates preparing for competitive examinations conducted by the Punjab Government and the Government of India.

The initiative aligns with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to promote youth welfare and ensure equal opportunities for all. Mission Pragati will offer comprehensive training for examinations such as Police, Army, Agniveer, Punjab Civil Services, Banking Examinations and more. The program will be conducted at Government ITI Nawanshahr, providing a one-stop platform for both written and physical exam preparation under one roof.
Speaking at the launch, Deputy Commissioner Shri Rajesh Dhiman emphasized the importance of timely guidance and resources for aspirants. He stated, “Our aim is to ensure that no aspiring candidate in the district is deprived of the opportunity to fulfill their dreams due to a lack of resources or guidance. This program is not just about exam preparation but also about fostering a culture of fitness, productivity and self-discipline among the youth.”
The training will be imparted by Gyanm Coaching Institute, a reputed coaching institution in Northern India. The first batch will commence with 35 young students from SBS Nagar. Participants will receive access to books, training materials and expert guidance on physical parameters essential for competitive exams. Serving officers will also be invited to share their expertise with the candidates.
In addition to the training program, the district is set to inaugurate a fully air-conditioned District Library at Baradari Bagh, equipped with modern facilities such as free Wi-Fi, newspapers and the latest competitive books. Another library at the DBEE District Administrative Complex is already operational, providing aspirants with ample resources for their studies.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Mehtab Singh added this is one of the best initiative taken by the administration, He shared that many times candidates visit them asking about the criteria of many examinations. Hence this initiative will happen to be the life changing experience for many and a one stop guidance platform for the youth of the district and will prove to be the torch bearer for the aspiring youth.
On the occasion Sub Divisional Magistrate Dr Akshita Gupta IAS, District Employment Officer Sh Sandeep Kumar,were also present. Dr. Akshita Gupta will be the nodal officer for Mission Pragati.
