33.31 percent voting turnout till 1pm, Raghav Chadha alleges polling irregularities

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha alleged irregularities in the New Delhi Assembly constituency, claiming that polling booth relievers were not being allowed inside.

“If relievers are not permitted, polling agents cannot leave, making it difficult to verify voting accuracy, potential fake voting, or the functioning of EVMs,” Chadha said. He urged the administration to ensure free and fair elections, alleging that some AAP supporters had been detained without charges.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate from the Bijwasan Assembly seat, Kailash Gahlot, cast his vote along with his family.

Expressing confidence in victory, he said, “I prayed for the change people want and believe they will vote for a developed Delhi. The AAP leadership has deviated from its principles and is solely focused on power.”

Polling for the Delhi Assembly elections began at 7 am. By 1 pm, the overall voter turnout stood at 33.31 percent. North East Delhi recorded the highest turnout at 39.81 percent, while Central Delhi had the lowest at 29.74 percent.

Among constituencies, Mustafabad saw the highest turnout at 43 percent, while Karol Bagh recorded the lowest at 25.01 percent.
