Youth turns to bike theft to fund obsession with expensive phones, arrested in Fazilka

Chandigarh: Fazilka police have arrested a bike thief and recovered 10 stolen motorcycles from his possession. The accused, identified as Lakhvir Singh, son of Gurjeet Singh from Jandwala Meera Sangla, allegedly stole motorcycles to fund his interest in expensive mobile phones.

According to Fazilka City police station in-charge Lekhraj, Lakhvir was caught near Annidelhi while attempting to sell a stolen motorcycle.

A case (No. 17) has been registered against him. During interrogation, he admitted to stealing bikes to maintain a luxurious lifestyle.

Investigations revealed that about half a dozen residents of Jandwala Meera Sangla had purchased stolen motorcycles from him.

The police have named them in the case and plan to make arrests soon. Authorities believe more individuals are involved and are working to identify them.

During a one-day police remand, nine more stolen motorcycles were recovered. The police intend to seek additional remand for further investigation.
