US deports 104 Indian migrants, entry ban may last up to a lifetime; Know full details

Washington: A US military plane carrying 104 deported Indian migrants landed at Amritsar Airport at 2:20 pm today. The group included 79 men, 25 women, and 13 children, all of whom were caught attempting to cross the US-Mexico border illegally.

Deportation rules vary by country, but in the US, entry bans typically last for 10 years. In some cases, the ban may be reduced to five years or extended to a lifetime prohibition, depending on the reasons for deportation.

While reapplying for a visa is difficult, it is not impossible.

Those deported for minor violations may apply after five years, but approval remains at the discretion of US immigration authorities.
