US prepares to deport second batch of illegal immigrants to India

Washington: The Donald Trump administration is set to deport a second batch of over 150 illegal immigrants to India this week, according to sources within the US administration.

While Indian authorities have not officially confirmed the reports, the deportation is expected to occur soon.

Earlier, on February 5, a US military cargo plane carrying 104 deported Indian migrants landed at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar. However, it remains unclear where the second batch will arrive.

The migrants were reportedly residing in the US for the past two to three years after entering the country through illegal routes, including the Dunky route.

The move coincides with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to Washington, where he is set to hold talks with US President Donald Trump on various issues, including illegal immigration.
