Farmers to hold fifth round of talks with Centre over MSP demands, Dallewal to attend

Chandigarh: Farmers protesting at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders of Haryana-Punjab are set to hold the fifth round of talks with the Centre in Chandigarh today (February 14) to discuss demands, including the implementation of minimum support price (MSP) on crops.

A delegation of 28 farmer leaders, led by Jagjit Dallewal of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Sarwan Pandher of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, will participate in the talks. Dallewal, who has been on a hunger strike for 81 days at the Khanauri border, arrived in Chandigarh by ambulance.

Union Food Minister Pralhad Joshi and Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Khudian will represent the Centre in the meeting, scheduled for 5 pm at the Magsipa office in Sector 26, Chandigarh.

Sarwan Pandher warned that if no resolution is reached, the farmers will march to Delhi.
