26 killed in Pahalgam terror attack, TRF claims responsibility

Srinagar: At least 26 people, most of them tourists, were killed in a terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday evening, police said.

Among the dead were two foreigners and two locals, according to a senior official.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a group linked to the Pakistan-based banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and a massive search operation is underway. The attack marks one of the deadliest incidents in the region in recent years.
