Will track and punish every terrorist: PM Modi after Pahalgam attack
Madhubani (Bihar): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday vowed strict action against those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack, declaring that India would track down every terrorist and their supporters, and deliver punishment “beyond their imagination.”
“From the land of Bihar, I tell the whole world that India will identify, track and punish every terrorist and their supporters. We will chase them to the last corner of the earth,” Modi said during the National Panchayati Raj Day programme in Madhubani.
Addressing the gathering for the first time since the Tuesday attack at Baisaran Ground in Pahalgam, Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister said India’s morale could never be shaken by terrorism. At least 26 people were killed in the attack.
“Everyone who believes in humanity is with us. I thank the people of different countries and the leaders who are standing with us at this time,” he said in a brief speech delivered in English.
The programme began with a moment of silence observed by Modi and the crowd to pay tribute to the victims of the attack. Modi referred to them as “our family members” and called on the audience to honour them with respect.
