LG Sinha warns of consequences for Pahalgam attack conspirators, seeks intensified counter-terror operations
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that every conspirator involved in the Pahalgam terror attack must be tracked down and brought to justice. He warned that the attackers would have to pay a heavy price for the heinous act.
The remarks came during a high-level security meeting in Srinagar attended by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Northern Command GOC Lt Gen MV Suchinder Kumar, Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Prateek Sharma and 15 Corps GOC Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava.
The meeting, which lasted for about an hour, focused on the prevailing security situation in the region following the attack in Pahalgam. Sinha urged the Army to intensify operations aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure and its support system.
He said the nation has full faith in the courage and valour of the Army, police and central armed forces, and called for a coordinated effort among all security agencies to identify and eliminate the entire network responsible for the attack.
The Army chief, who arrived in Kashmir earlier in the day, also reviewed the security arrangements on the ground and held discussions with senior military officials. His visit comes amid reports of small arms firing by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir since Thursday night.
