SGPC holds meeting in Patiala over mercy petition of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana

Patiala: A meeting of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) members and scholars was held in Patiala on Saturday to deliberate on the long-pending mercy petition of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, who remains on death row in Central Jail Patiala.

The meeting was chaired by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. Addressing the media afterwards, Dhami said the discussions are ongoing and a final decision will be made after consulting more scholars and relevant stakeholders.

“The matter is sensitive and under detailed consideration. Further meetings will help reach a consensus,” he said.
